Whereas divers troopers, dragooneers, and foot-souldiers belonging to the army under my command, raised for the defence of the associated counties, have lately absented themselves from their colours and the army, and are gone to the places of their former abode, and to other towns and places within this association, to the great prejudice of the service for which they were set forth, and bad example of the whole army: these are to require and command all troopers, dragooneers, & foot-souldiers, who have absented themselves from the army under my command, without the license of their superiour officers; or having license have out-stayed their passes, that all excuses set apart, they with their horses and arms repair to Cambridge upon or before the 30th day of this instant November 1643, upon pain of death to be inflicted without mercy, upon every such person as shall fail to give obedience hereunto
